It appears that this script is from a time when FreedomBox images had packages which were outside the Debian repository. To comply with the license requirements, we seem to have added the code to download the sources into FreedomBox images. We no longer have any packages that are outside the Debian repository. To satisfy the license requirements of GPL to distribute source code, we need not ship the source code in the FreedomBox images. It is sufficient to give an offer to provide source code on request. All the source code for FreedomBox is available from Debian repositories.
