seemingly the issue was fixed with next version from upstream Currently there is a package 7.9-1 in experimental, which still has some RC bugs.
But it is possible to use the debian package 7.8.2-1 This package can be pulled from git://anonscm.debian.org/pkg-gdb/gdb.git and builds without further modifications on Jessie With this (next) gdb version, I am able to debug again, so the urgent show stopper is resolved for me. Would it be possible to promote this gdb_7.8.2-1 to Debian/stable? Or is this against policy? IMHO such fundamental stuff should be working in a stable distribution.
