As written in the other mail in private here are some few words again.

I've wrote that we *can* change this behavior nothing more.
And I'm not the maintainer of this package(s), so in the end I can make
a suggestion to change this. If this field will be changed is a decision
of the maintainer in the end.

For such a change we have to think about the side effects as Icedove
(and the packages around it) is one of the more imported packages for a
"normal" desktop user. As Guido was pointing out iceowl-extension and
google-calendar-provider are based on completely free and open source so
for now we don't see the needing to make a deeper adverse effect for new
users.
