Feel free. And I think about adding an automatic learning mechanism, i.e. when the problem occurs with certain peers then this setting should change for them. However, I am still wondering that it happens for _all_ mirrors in your case. This only makes sense if there is another single point of failure, i.e. the same proxy between you and your clients or there is some other middle box between you and your ISP that "has problems".
