Package: g++-mingw-w64-i686 Version: 4.9.1-19+14.3 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
sorry if this is the wrong package to report this bug. I have a regression in jessie compared to wheezy. The following link line does not work anymore for me: $ /usr/bin/i686-w64-mingw32-g++ -Wl,--whole-archive CMakeFiles/countlevels.dir/objects.a -Wl,--no-whole-archive -o countlevels.exe -Wl,--out-implib,libcountlevels.dll.a -Wl,--major-image-version,0,--minor-image-version,0 ../NDPRead.lib .../NDPRead.lib: error adding symbols: File format not recognized collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status NDPRead.lib is a private lib, I cannot redistribute it. I suspect it has been build with Visual Studio (which version I do not know). It used to work just fine from wheezy. For references: $ objdump -h NDPRead.lib | head In archive NDPRead.lib: NDPRead.dll: file format pe-i386 Sections: Idx Name Size VMA LMA File off Algn 0 .debug$S 00000041 00000000 00000000 0000008c 2**0 CONTENTS, READONLY, DEBUGGING 1 .idata$2 00000014 00000000 00000000 000000cd 2**2 CONTENTS, ALLOC, LOAD, RELOC, DATA -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers stable APT policy: (700, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (100, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages g++-mingw-w64-i686 depends on: ii gcc-mingw-w64-base 4.9.1-19+14.3 ii gcc-mingw-w64-i686 4.9.1-19+14.3 ii libc6 2.19-18 ii libcloog-isl4 0.18.2-1+b2 ii libgmp10 2:6.0.0+dfsg-6 ii libisl10 0.12.2-2 ii libmpc3 1.0.2-1 ii libmpfr4 3.1.2-2 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-2+b1 g++-mingw-w64-i686 recommends no packages.
