'compare' now no longer terminates its output with a newline. For
example, here's a shell transcript (captured in my Emacs shell buffer,
with $ as the shell prompt):

$ compare -metric PSNR /tmp/tmp.jzBigUzj59/{a,b}/023.png /tmp/q.png
87.1388$ compare -metric mae /tmp/tmp.jzBigUzj59/{a,b}/023.png /tmp/q.png
0.032295 (4.9279e-07)$

I expected it to look like this:

$ compare -metric PSNR /tmp/tmp.jzBigUzj59/{a,b}/023.png /tmp/q.png
87.1388
$ compare -metric mae /tmp/tmp.jzBigUzj59/{a,b}/023.png /tmp/q.png
0.032295 (4.9279e-07)
$
