And in contrast, debian/copyright has this:

> License:

> You are free to distribute this software under the terms of the GNU General
> Public License Version 2. The full text of this license can be found in the

Section 12.5 of Debian policy states:

Every package must be accompanied by a verbatim copy of its
copyright information and distribution license in the file
  /usr/share/doc/<package>/copyright.

Now, compare the README to debian/copyright. Does that look like a
"verbatim copy" to you? If so, perhaps you should look up "verbatim" in
a dictionary, e.g. <https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/verbatim>

"Word for word; in exactly the same words as were used originally."

I must say, I find your responses to this clear violation of Debian
policy quite disconcerting, especially given how easy it would be to
fix the problem.

     Mark
