Package: reportbug Version: 6.6.3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
I think it would be good if reportbug had the ability to send a test email to a dead account (or user configurable) to test configuration. I was following the instructions here https://wiki.debian.org/reportbug#Using_GMail.27s_SMTP_Server to use gmail for reportbug and, when completed, I wanted to know if I'd set it up correctly. Reading the man pages and googling, I could not find any "send test email" mode that seemed appropriate (the test mode is clearly marked just for maintainers). -- Package-specific info: ** Environment settings: EDITOR="emacs -nw" INTERFACE="text" ** /home/fommil/.reportbugrc: reportbug_version "6.6.3" mode standard ui text email "sam.halli...@gmail.com" smtphost "smtp.gmail.com:587" smtpuser "sam.halli...@gmail.com" smtptls -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages reportbug depends on: ii apt 1.0.9.5 ii python 2.7.8-2 ii python-reportbug 6.6.3 pn python:any <none> reportbug recommends no packages.
