Package: ent
Version: 1.1debian-4
Severity: normal

Hi,

So it appears the upstream ent source (since 2008?) now has
a much better chi-square calculation. It would be awesome
if we could get that into the packaged version too.

The source for that is linked from here:
https://www.fourmilab.ch/random/

and available here:
http://www.fourmilab.ch/random/random.zip

It's unfortunately not versioned in any way that makes it
obvious when or what was updated, but looking at the diff
shows the new chi-square code is the main difference.

Where I get results like this from the debian version:

Chi square distribution for 655360 samples is 258.54, and randomly
would exceed this value 50.00 percent of the times.

The new upstream one gives me a less approximate:

Chi square distribution for 655360 samples is 258.54, and randomly
would exceed this value 42.64 percent of the times.

Thanks for your work on looking after this package!

  Cheers,
  Ron
