Hi Steve,

Long ago you reported #207056 from a different address. I wrote back to
that address a while back but didn't get a response; I'm not sure if that
address at netexpress.net is one you use actively these days.

The original problem was:

| On my alpha workstation running a 2.4.19 kernel patched for XFS support,
| the openafs module will load successfully, but afsd fails to start with
| the following errors:
|
| afsd: Error -1 in basic initialization.
| afsd: Error enabling dynroot support.
| afsd: Error enabling fakestat support.

I'm pretty sure that this was due to AFS's incestuous dependency on the
exact details of the Linux kernel inode struct which the XFS patch would
have fiddled with, something that's since been fixed in the version that's
in Debian unstable and testing. I don't have an Alpha to reproduce this
problem, but I'm pretty sure it can be closed at this point.

I wanted to check with you first, though, in case you objected or had
more information. Otherwise, I'll go ahead and close this bug.

Thanks!
