Hello. I am not able to reproduce this problem with the current version of nip2 in unstable, version 7.10.16-1. Is it possible for you to test that version? Note that the newer version will not install easily in etch right now because of various library issues. If it is not practical for you to try this, that's fine; just let me know, and I will do a little more work this weekend to determine whether I can reproduce the problem with the version you mentioned. If I can, then we can safely assume that this problem was fixed between 7.10.14 and 7.10.16 and that you'll see the fix once the latest nip2 and vips appear in etch. There have been a handful of nip2 crash bugs corrected between those versions. If I don't hear anything in response to this message, I will go ahead and do some additional investigation over the weekend.
