Since version 3.8.1, the octave-common package, which is arch:all, now includes
/usr/share/octave/$VER/etc/config.log. This file is copied directly from the
build tree and contains architecture- and system-specific details about the
build environment.
This file should not be installed at all, and even more so that it's in an
arch:all package but contains arch-specific details. I've reported this
upstream at https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?43087, hopefully it will simply be
removed from make install in a future version.
I explained in a comment to the Octave bug report why I included the
file in the install target and I don't plan to remove it. Is there a
better location for it?
