We've already released v4.5 and v4.6. We'll try to test v4.7 against postgres 9.4. Our v4.7 (and likely even v4.8) will come out with plenty of time for the Debian freeze.

This Debian bug report concerns the PostgresQL version for Postbooks

I haven't responded so far because it wasn't clear whether 9.3 or 9.4
will be in the next Debian release.

xTuple publish a compatibility matrix here
http://www.xtuple.org/compatibility-matrix#PostgreSQL

and here is a summary:

Postbooks versions 4.1, 4.2 and 4.3 with PostgreSQL 9.1 (Debian wheezy)

Postbooks versions 4.4, 4.5 with PostgreSQL 9.1 or 9.3 (Debian wheezy,
recent Ubuntu releases)

From what I can see in Debian and Ubuntu:

Ubuntu LTS 14.04 has PostgreSQL 9.3
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-9.3

Ubuntu 14.10 has PostgreSQL 9.3 and 9.4?
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-9.3
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/postgresql-9.4

Debian 8 jessie will ship PostgreSQL 9.4
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/postgresql

It seems like the Postbooks version released in Debian 8 will have to
work with PostgreSQL 9.4 and this means it will also be OK with Ubuntu
14.10 and later.

Questions for xTuple:

- is 9.4 supported by Postbooks v4.5?

- if not, can PostgreSQL v9.4 be supported with Postbooks v4.6?

Ideally, this will need to be confirmed before the Debian freeze /
before November
