I can understand that gnome-session doesn’t want to show a dialog any more. But shouldn’t then $ gnome-session-quit --logout --no-prompt work? Also, I would expect gnome-session to behave more sensibly if it cannot ask anyone to do the confirmation, e.g. then shutdown.
