Have you tried gnome-control-center as well? It has an option which let's you connect to hidden networks. gnome-control-center → Network → Connect to Hidden Network ... > Logging out going to gnome classic and using the applet there is a workaround, > in gnome classic the option to connect to hidden wireless network appears with > no problem. > Also the Gui in the gnome desktop doesn't show as many options as the Gui in > the classic mode. nm-applet is not used in gnome-shell, reassigning to gnome-shell therefore. That said, might not be a bug after all. But simply you not finding the option in gnome-control-center.
