OK, I'll try to persuade upstream. Looking at relevant thread in the mailing list[1], I took the "not accepted upstream" part as more of a maintenance issue within xf-p-m rather than a rejection. Or was my impression wrong? Otherwise, I'll try pinging the developer who prepared the 1.2.0 release.
