I am trying to understand what is going on. I can get sound if I run spd-conf, but only in the debugging section after the first try fails. So it's not completely hopeless, but it is not a smooth install. I also wonder if we need to do any actions to migrate to 0.8. But in Ubuntu, everything seems to be fine (which I don't understand, because there should not be any major difference).
