Package: abinit
Severity: normal

Hi,

when checking a new QA tool to find aged packages[1] I noticed that
abinit is obviously orphaned. It is lagging behind upstream for several
(even major versions) and was not uploaded since five years - so the
packaging can be considered quite outdated. As far as I can see the
package is not even maintained in Vcs. It also seems to be consensus to
stop using pkg-scicomp as maintainer team but either use debian-science
or some other team that might fit more which probably is the case here
since I think DebiChem makes a perfect fit.

What do you think about taking over abinit into DebiChem? I'd volunteer
to help in the migration step if any help is needed.

Kind regards

        Andreas.
