I'm still not sure whether help is really needed here. If so, can't libpam-systemd just "Breaks: consolekit packages"? I've never really understood the whole ConsoleKit/PolicyKit/WhateverKit thing though. The XDG_RUNTIME_DIR thing seems a separate issue to me, but there appear to be working patches to fix that.
