Your log shows:

JS ERROR: !!! Exception in callback for signal: sessions-loaded
JS ERROR: !!! message = '"Argument 'string' (type utf8) may not be null"'

That is, XDG_SESSION_ID is not set, but libpam-systemd should have set it.

On bug #726773, Lucas and intrigeri were having the same problem. Running
`pam-auth-update --force' as root solved the problem for Lucas, but not for
intrigeri.

intrigeri, are you still suffering from this bug?

Les, can you attach /etc/pam.d/common-session ? Can you also run
`pam-auth-update --force' as root and see if that helps?

Can you also check if there are any errors in /var/log/auth.log and attach it?

Regards,
Emilio
