Package: netbeans Version: 7.0.1+dfsg1-5 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I have a fresh install of Debian Wheeze and Netbeans (amd64 arch). After installing Netbeans and opening it for the first time I experienced an issue when trying to create a new project. If I select File-->New Project the New Project windows opens but it hangs with a "Please wait..." message under the Categories box. Trying to find information about the issue I found this interesting post: http://askubuntu.com/questions/326556/i-cant-start-a-new-project-on-netbeans In wheezy we have also java version OpenJDK 6b27. Following the recommendations in the post mentioned above I installed openjdk-7-jdk and modified the configuration of Netbeans to use it: root@pcsistemas3:~# diff /etc/netbeans.conf /etc/netbeans.conf.orig 19c19 < netbeans_jdkhome="/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64/" --- > #netbeans_jdkhome="/path/to/jdk" This solves the issue and now the New Project window loads correctly. -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.2 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=es_ES.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=es_ES.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages netbeans depends on: ii default-jdk [java6-sdk] 1:1.6-47 ii libnb-apisupport3-java 7.0.1+dfsg1-5 ii libnb-ide14-java 7.0.1+dfsg1-5 ii libnb-java5-java 7.0.1+dfsg1-5 ii libnb-platform13-java 7.0.1+dfsg1-5 ii openjdk-6-jdk [java6-sdk] 6b27-1.12.6-1~deb7u1 netbeans recommends no packages. netbeans suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
