Hello Carsten, thank you for response.
Can you supply me with some more details how to proceed your tests? Am 21.07.2013 11:58, schrieb Carsten Schoenert:
Check your settings in your prefs.js if you have sound support enabled.
Where i can see this? There is no line with something like sound.
Also check your setting in "General" if the selected 'Use the following sound file' is working, if not you have missconfigured soundsystem.
There is a wav file selected, but this does not work. Even with the play button nor with incoming mail. This is the reason for this bug report.
If yes, please start with disabled plugins and in safe-mode, maybe there is something that block the sound output.
I have no idea how to do this?
If that doesn't work backup your current profile and start from scratch with a fresh clean profile. Very offen problems comes in context with a "old" profile.js migrated from the beginning of using Icedove. To be sure the problem is a "real" software problem please check if your issue is not depending on the old profile.
I will try this, but this is really much work, because i have plenty of accounts and settings. When you are waiting for mail response it is very helpful to get an acoustic sign for incoming mails when you are not working on the screen the whole time.
For me that isn't importend. I have static times there I check my mails, I made the decision if I look at the mail, not the MTA. My life is easier with that rule.
And i want to be notified.
And, Icedove will only play a sound if the mail is the really first one new in the queue and you have no others unread new messages. If you have other ones that are unread and a new mail is comming no sound will played.
That's fullfilled. Regards Karsten -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [email protected]
