huh, ok, that's a little bit surprising, actually.  are there some
specific instances where we can reduce dependencies on dnsutils (or
bind9-dig, or whatever package name) by providing alternatives for
/usr/bin/dig?  and are you really aiming to make kdig an exact, 1:1,
bug-for-bug clone of dig?  e.g., #712747 is quite annoying.  i'm still
not quite convinced that an alternative is the right thing to do here.
