Indeed, thanks for your comment (and for keeping an eye on this bug report). Setting “"logfile" => "/var/log/owncloud.log"” by default could indeed be nicer, not sure how to handle upgrade (it would probably worth to set it if logfile isn’t defined yet). An alternative would be to patch the $defaultLogFile in lib/log/owncloud.php, so it would work on upgrade too (the only missing bit would be to let the existing owncloud.log rot where it is, but we can probably live with that). Comments welcome on those two proposed solutions, and other ideas welcome too.
