Package: cdo Version: 1.5.4+dfsg.1-5 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, cdo and libgdal1-dev cannot be installed together because they have mutually exclusive dependencies. This is obviously a fairly serious problem.
My proposed solution is to make cdo depend on libhdf5-dev instead of libhdf5-openmpi-dev; is there any reason why it depends on libhdf5-openmpi-dev?
