Package: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au Version: 2.1-5.3 Severity: serious User: debian...@lists.debian.org Usertags: piuparts
Hi, during a test with piuparts I noticed your package fails to upgrade from 'testing'. It installed fine in 'testing', then the upgrade to 'sid' fails. >From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...): The following packages will be DOWNGRADED: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 downgraded, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded. Need to get 2588 B of archives. After this operation, 88.1 kB disk space will be freed. E: There are problems and -y was used without --force-yes Hmm, [testing] Package: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au Source: openoffice.org Version: 1:3.4.0~ooo340m1-7 Depends: mythes-en-au Description: Australian English Thesaurus for OpenOffice.org [sid] Package: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au Source: openoffice.org-en-au Version: 2.1-5.3 Depends: mythes-en-au Description: transitional dummy package $ rmadison openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au | 2.1-5 | squeeze | all openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au | 2.1-5.3 | sid | all openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au | 1:3.4.0~ooo340m1-7 | wheezy | all openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au | 1:3.4.0~ooo340m1-7 | jessie | all Looks like the transitional package needs to get the version munged to add an appropriate epoch to ensure smooth upgrades from wheezy. *Only the transitional package* needs an epoch, don't add it to the openoffice.org-en-au source package! (Hint: dpkg-gencontrol takes a -v option, can also be passed via dh_gencontrol) Or if that was already a transitional package in wheezy, it could be dropped for jessie (and mythes-en-au could Conflicts/Replaces: openoffice.org-thesaurus-en-au to get rid of the transitional if it is still installed somewhere). cheers, Andreas
