tags 291062 moreinfo thanks In Debian bug #291062, you reported:
======================================== Since few days (I am following testing) I encounter timeout on some operations on mounted samba shares. Operations like "cp" are working but a simple "touch fileToCreate" generate an IO error : touch: setting times of `fileToCreate': Input/output error The file is created after a timeout. I found following lines in logs : smb_trans2: invalid data, disp=0, cnt=0, tot=0, ofs=0 smb_add_request: request [cf239e80, mid=1993] timed out! ======================================== Steve Langasek later suggest you to try the cifs file system driver instead of smbfs which is deprecated in kernel 2.6. Did you do so? This bug very probably belongs more to the smbfs driver in the kernel than to the smbfs package itself....so it's very likely that, without news from you confirming the bug is still here, we will close it. At least, could you: -try to reproduce it again -if reproduced, try with cifs In both cases, please come back at us, Debian samba maintainers, to give us the results of your tests. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
