I've tried reproducing this again in a VM with gnome-core installed and again after installing gnome-dbg - without problems.
There are updates in sid relating to libglib2.0-0 from this change: http://packages.qa.debian.org/g/glib2.0/news/20130108T234753Z.html * Drop the various Breaks from libglib2.0-0. Those are causing APT to fail on a dist-upgrade from squeeze to wheezy.
