Package: cdck
Version: 0.7.0-5
Severity: important
I tested cdck with a number of DVDs I have under the hand and it failed
with a lot (for roughly half of DVDs) right from the beginning, always
with the same error:
Disc status: data mode 1
Multisession: 0
Audio status: failed to get, reason: No medium found
Try to find out what sort of CD this is...
CD-ROM with unknown filesystem
NB! For disks written with some burners cdck might
report about unreadable sectors at the end of the disk.
In such cases you can just ignore those warnings.
Unable to read disc because sectors_tot <= 0
Here are my affected disks:
Video disks:
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... And Spring
SIMPSONSS3D2 and presumably all DVDs of The Simpsons
Bob Gratton - Ma vie, my life - Saison 2 S'tie! (both disks)
Creating software: 'DVD Studio Pro:4.2.0, DSPInterface:431.19,
DVDAuthoring:428.36, DVDBase:468.35(E'
A friend's home-made software compilation
Civilization V
2 burns of Lenny i386 DVD1
Squeeze 6.0.0 i386 DVD 1
Preparer: 'XORRISO-1.0.1 2011.01.26.133107, LIBISOBURN-1.0.1,
LIBISOFS-1.0.1, LIBBURN-1.0.1'
I can't say exactly what was used to burn the affected Debian DVDs, but
I'm sure they were burned with Debian, 99% sure by K3b.
On the other hand, I have 1 DVD of Etch which doesn't have this problem.
I also have a series of 10 home made video disks written in 2004.
This problem affects both of the 2 machines on which I tested cdck.
