That option was disabled by default because it was not working as perfect as it can (there were problems with maximized windows IIRC). Why not do the > same for retext? The <project name>/<app name>.conf naming is the default behaviour of QSettings. I'll maybe move the user-changeable settings to ~/.config/retext.conf on Linux, and add some comments to that file to make it easier to edit it.
