Sounds good to me. libao has often been problematic (#470410, #679826, this multi arch issue). I actually wonder why it has not been done before? There must have been an issue with SDL output at a time, but I just tested and it works on both i386 and amd64 (with multi arch). A release team "go" is needed of course, but there's usually no problem when removing stuff :) Can you take care of this ?
