Package: proj
Version: 4.4.9-1
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

with the 4.4.9 release there is a jniwrapper for using
proj from java provided (directory jniwrap).

The java binding is one dependency for JGrass which
is a Java frontend to grass. JGrass would be a usefull
package for Debian-GIS so I look after the dependencies
right now.

I tested compilation and it works with the free java tools
so proj could stay in main - just a few more build dependencies.

It is very small - jar file has 5 kb + readme and docs.
It could be included in the normal proj package or a
new libproj-java package with the jar and the docs could
be created.

If you are willing to consider this wishlist, I can prepare a
patch to the current package for inclusion.

Thanks for your work,

Wolfgang
