I find it very hard to believe than this initrd has been built using the
dropbear hook as provided in version 2012.55-1.2.

Please triple-check that you have properly updated your initrd, and the
you are booting the right initrd. You can also add a 'set -x' statement
in `/usr/share/initramfs-tools/hooks/dropbear` to get a trace of what
the hook does.
