There are GPIOs which tell you something about the device. I think you can pretty much tell the exact device based on a combination of GPIOs, although I've lost tracked a bit since QNAP has so many variants. Detecting the LCD in TS-41x devices should be easy though: MPP45_GPIO, /* JP1: 0: LCD, 1: serial console */ One problem with QNAP devices are the number of variants.
