Thanks for that suggestion: I can confirm that if I copy the mail to a local folder, I can successfully import the signature. I tried this with 3 messages, it works for all of them. All messages give the error if I try to import the key from the message in the IMAP mailbox. As mentioned in the Debian bug report, I tried setting up a second profile. Signature import from messages in the IMAP mailbox works in the new profile. The normal profile I use has existed for about 5 years, I've upgraded icedove (the Debian name for Thunderbird) several times, always using the same profile. I usually run Debian stable (currently 6.0, squeeze) but I occasionally update icedove from Debian backports. So, it is not universally broken - it seems to be stuck on something in the profile, but the debug log doesn't give any clue at all. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.12 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBCAAGBQJQRPJQAAoJEOm1uwJp1aqD9PAP/R5tLoqgqXSBFFuKhrPhbCec uru1DR9eoY11N2Tem/P5PwV1nkHVfA2TaQqGTMTVPWlZSyxm/Jp1XuxQGmd7K2WX xj4YW3XM4ZJ2jV1evqXn7xqAR9Oj3CdyN4/cvzwh3/2wJ1pCXI287GUlYQJ+6ih0 jfMOhL7Pl+dECH5qCCQLQtgXkN5+XLfUyyzcI7XdPi68uGI2DG3k7IkelpWXWiEr hCxVuio4u+qjDgkcFcU4c0QFD9WyW7b81CVAcs3cv1olN9hF/R17FTNx5QEk0gvf aLKaDPdZWWhGTvw4GRkDb4/vJ7WloM9TdSkKNkZ4Cb9RDv3TEyGw6SoH2U7yn8Su loeF0f0pfroMadQkb8ULyxX2AFpVd2UfFE/Fw+Ssg6+iB0MsiW7tXNnbK6IdyCbq 1TwW3rDM020NVlo8FBYpToyZFvu2Pz+VYWJ2wMreh9GDwoQ2M4TYyQDqys/7Pvpg kNo5I9FeqyGJtHzoYrjwiCqV5di/4nmYHbES9Gmawm4jwsKoiq+XHztzjBFmBdv0 DWqUVTQ05jJAX7bR44qRGl821HyidxD/j4oyAyeJg5071U5B8k+dK6Mn2uLc0gqJ D1uAKsA7Hr3el8VnPVP+pMd3NL6blMczPz7i2L3lt5T1JufuCoZ6PJOiDi3ikgtE tBt7b2c6zs99wnTjYRD/ =z6Ge -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
