This must be the problem, as documented in
/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/snd-intel-hda.conf

# Disable controller on Device timeout
# This saves more power
# However you might want to disable this if you get annoyed by the

INTEL_HDA_DEVICE_CONTROLLER=1


Try to set it to 0 and see if that helps.
