If I understand correctly, the reason is that equality comparison does not stop at the upstream version. The mu server version dependency really only needs that part to match. I'm no expert in this area but I also wondered if it would be possible to use Breaks: rather than Conflicts: in order to sort out the mu server version dependency. Do you think that mu4e Depends: maildir-utils maildir-utils Breaks: mu4e (<< upstream-version) would do the trick? > Uploaded 0.9.8.5-3 already to unstable. Checked that.
