That is good to hear, thanks! >> I notice that this was reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878422 >> with some kind of resolution there (perhaps hotplugging was just disabled?) > > The patch in that LP bugreport is merely to disable CPU hotplug, yes, but > it is not entirely correct, as it still keeps the capability exposed to > libvirt, which still tries to hotplug CPUs on request, even if this makes > no effect. I guess that is better than segfaulting and crashing the guest. > I've a question. Why do you think the severity of this bug is "important"? > CPU hotplug has been broken forever, I think squeeze version is already > broken, and you're the first to notice this. Well, the severity of a bug is not depending on how long it has been broken, or what other suites it is broken in, or if only one person ever reported it. The important severity has this definition: important a bug which has a major effect on the usability of a package, without rendering it completely unusable to everyone. I would say that this bug has a major effect on the usability, as it crashed my guest, but it is not completely unsable to everyone as many people do not attempt this. micah -- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
