Is that actually true ? I think you can actually install libjpeg62:i386 as long as libjpeg62:amd64 is not installed, and since nothing should depend on libjpeg62:amd64 anyway this is not really a problem. Not that I objet to add multiarch support, but that might explain why the problem does not occur in practice.
