Could you give me a "ls -al /usr/bin/unison*" and "ls -al
/etc/alternatives/unison*" ?

FYI: i cannot reproduce the bug you are describing, that is the reason i
am trying to found what is problematic, i have installed unison2.9.1 and
unison here and all seems ok.
