"boot from /dev/sda1" should be reads as "access /dev/sda1"

Had _exactly_ the same problem. Looking at the dmesg output showed me it
was trying to boot from /dev/sda1, which was the device node for my USB
card reader, while I was trying to install to /dev/hda1. Disconnected
the card reader, repeated the installation - it worked fine.
