I still have no idea how to remove the error message, except "brute
force", i.e. deleting the printer queue and recreating them, i.e.

lpadmin -x

lpadmin -v usb://Kyocera/FS-1020D?serial=XAX5560374 -p
Kyocera_FS-1020D-neu -E -P /etc/cups/ppd/Kyocera_FS-1020D.ppd

I'll wait a week if you would like to see anything / me to debug
anything and if I've not heard anything from you I will resolve the
issue that way.
