Package: initscripts Version: 2.88dsf-22.1 Severity: normal I just umounted my tmpfs /tmp, after running into a mairix bug. (It ignores TEMPDIR and tried to write > 200 mb to /tmp, which fails on this 1 gb memory system.)
Anyway, I noticed the root filesystem's /tmp still contained temp files, from February. This must be what was in /tmp the last time I rebooted, before the tmpfs /tmp started to be mounted. This could be an aritrary amount of wasted space on people's systems. (Here it was a couple MB.) Seems like the "real" /tmp should be cleaned before mounting the tmpfs over it. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii coreutils 8.13-3.1 ii debianutils 4.3 ii libc6 2.13-27 ii lsb-base 4.1+Debian0 ii mount 2.20.1-4 ii sysv-rc 2.88dsf-22.1 ii sysvinit-utils 2.88dsf-22.1 ii ucf 3.0025+nmu2 Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii e2fsprogs 1.42.2-1 ii psmisc 22.16-1 initscripts suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- see shy jo -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
