sebastian & phillip: could you both take a look at http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-nagios-devel/2005-January/000272.html and let me know if reverting to an older version of mysql fixes the problem? if it does, i have an upload ready that i believe fixes the problem. greg: thanks for pointing out this problem so precisely. i think for a fix, i'll just bump the dep/build-dep from libmysqlclient12 to libmysqlclient14, since i imagine that it's backwards compatible with the older servers anyway, and if it isn't, i still think it's right to support the version that is shipped in the same debian release. sean
