from what i've read, the problem is that in the latest version of
mysql-server, the behavior of FROM_UNIXTIME() has changed, which is
what's causing this problem.
there were two suggestions i made to phillip (downgrading and trying the
nagios-mysql on my p.d.o page), could you try both of them and let us
know if they work?
