Well plain "d" doesn't work. One must hit ALT-d. Needing to also hold down ALT takes much of the short out of this cut... Compare the icewm menus. ALT is not required once inside the main menu... Anyway, there may be indeed few times in gimp when ALT would be necessary to distinguish between text input and shortcut selection. But OK, to keep the interface consistent I see why ALT is required. However at the "discard changes" question, it seemed kind of laborious. Hmmm, maybe say "discard changes(d)" along with the underline at front... OK never mind. --------------------------------------- Received: (at 326953-done) by bugs.debian.org; 6 Sep 2005 23:27:04 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Sep 06 16:27:04 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from sojourner.alienhosting.com [216.40.217.206] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1ECmqG-0002yN-00; Tue, 06 Sep 2005 16:27:04 -0700 Received: from [0.0.0.0] (utopia.ccs.neu.edu [129.10.116.73]) (authenticated bits=0) by sojourner.alienhosting.com (8.12.11/8.12.11) with ESMTP id j86NR3oo020441 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA bits=256 verify=NO) for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Tue, 6 Sep 2005 19:27:04 -0400 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Tue, 06 Sep 2005 19:26:21 -0400 From: Ari Pollak <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Debian Thunderbird 1.0.6 (X11/20050802) X-Accept-Language: en-us, en MIME-Version: 1.0 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Bug#326953: gimp: shortcuts require ALT always References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> X-Enigmail-Version: 0.92.0.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 Comparing a behavior to icewm is not an adequate reason for a feature request. This is the behavior for all GTK programs, and I can't think of a reason why it would need to be changed.
