I could boot from the same installation media on a different computer, and the menu is shown. I'm talking about the first menu, with these options: - Graphical install - Install - Advanced options ... - ... Obviously the menu is using a graphics mode already, and apparently that mode cannot be set on my laptop. When the menu should appear, the computer just beeps twice. Still it is possible to _use_ the menu, without seeing it. I managed to access the rescue mode by pressing "down, down, enter, down, enter". I could also start the installer by just pressing enter. But maybe it would be safer to not use a graphical mode for that menu?
