I am trying to understand how pop before smtp works in dbmail. I have
postfix setup to check_client_access via the dbmail_pbsp table. I can't see
any documentation proving this, so please correct me if I am mistaken.

When a user attempts to use my mail server for smtp relay postfix checks the
dbmail_pbsp table for my ip address and then relays the message if found or
if not found it then checks for the user account trying to relay the mail
and then if found adds the ip to dbmail_pbsp so the next time a user tries
to send an email if the ip is found it just relays?

Am I correct here? If not, please explain the pop before smtp process and
dbmail_pbsp.

Thanks,

Nate
