Did you set the CrystalSpaceRoot default value as discussed in section 
2.4.5.4 of the manual?

Might be a VFS issue.

A VFS issue might explain the cfgtest.cfg not-found error, however 
plugin-missing errors are not related to VFS. There was a patch on the 
1.2 branch a couple days ago which may help. See revision r28281:
