Hi,
while updating packaging for Courier in Debian, I realized that FAM has
been requested for removal [0], which I fully expect to happen for the
next stable release. I'll change the dependencies to gamin.
However, at the moment, gamin is is limbo as well and currently marked
for autoremoval. I very much hope this will somehow resolve in time for
the stable release. But note that gamin is not aging very well and I
can imagine it eventually getting abandoned as well. In the worst case
rather sooner than later.
Would it be feasible to add support for inotify in courier-imap? That
seems to be the state-of-the-art alternative. I'm open to other
options, but mainly want to bring this up for discussion.
